General Manager Permanently Appointed

When Mike Janssen departed in October to begin his new endeavor as Senior Vice President of Operations for the 2006 Detroit Super Bowl XL Host Committee, the Parish administration looked to the Alario Center Operations Manager, Gregory Guthrie, to assume the role as General Manager.  After three (3) months of serving on an interim basis, Parish President Aaron Broussard has decided to retain Guthrie in this capacity. 

“I’m honored that President Broussard and the administration have entrusted me with such an important role,” said Guthrie.  “This facility is a part of me and I take extreme pride in it.  My goal is to work diligently to bring in additional events and maintain the integrity of the Alario Center.”

Gregory Guthrie has served as the Alario Center’s Operations Manager since 1998, when he was hired to oversee the project as the Center was being constructed.  He is a lifelong resident of Jefferson Parish and resides in Marrero with his wife Rhonda and sons Brent and Brad.
