Welcome again to the Alario Alert, the quarterly published calendar, which lets you know when your favorite event will be appearing in the Alario Center or at Segnette Field. 

Governor Blanco kicks off the spring at her inaugural Governor’s Luncheon, Tuesday, March 23 at noon.  Tickets are available by calling 361-6013.

The Jefferson 007-Dollars and Sense, a new project by incoming Parish President, Aaron Broussard, is on Friday, March 26, 2004.  The conference’s purpose is to form a consensus on the priorities and tasks that Parish Officials will embark upon over the next 4 years.  For registration information, please call 504-280-6315.

Archbishop Blenk High School hosts their annual fundraiser auction on Saturday, March 27, 2004 from 7pm-11pm.

Country on Whiskey Bayou, starring John Michael Montgomery and Tracy Lawrence, arrives to the Alario Center Festival Grounds (outside the Alario Center) on Sunday, March 28, 2004.  Tickets are $25 at the door and $20 pre-purchased through Ticketmaster at 504-522-5555 or at www.ticketmaster.com.

National Safety Council and the Harvey Canal Industrial Association (HCIA) have joined forces to host their inaugural National Safety Expo on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 from 9am-6pm.

Newly elected Parish President, Aaron Broussard, has his inaugural Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 from 7am-10am.  For ticket information please call 736-6400. 

The Bayou Boogie Festival rocks the town again for its annual outdoor festival Wednesday through Sunday, April 7-11, 2004.  Come out and enjoy the great food, rides, and live entertainment during Easter weekend.

The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness hosts the Governor’s Games Boys Basketball Tournament April 15-18, 2004.  For team information, please call 504-398-7136 after 3pm.

The Boys State AAU Basketball Tournament hoops it up May 6-9, 2004.  For team information, please call 504-398-7136 after 3pm.

Graduation season commences with Archbishop Shaw High School on May 17 at 7pm, followed by the Head Start Program on Friday, May 21 at 9am and Hahnville High School at 6pm.  West Jefferson starts off Saturday, May 22 at 9am, followed by Higgins High School at 2pm, and Archbishop Blenk High School at 7pm.  Fisher High School closes out the graduation schedule on May 26 at 7pm.

The Nike Memorial Day Classic Boys Basketball Tournament hits the Alario Center May 28-31, 2004.  Select Boys Teams (17’s, 16’s and 15’s) compete to become the next LeBron James.

The Jefferson Parish School Board Teacher’s Job Fair runs June 7-9, 2004.  This event is for new teachers looking for a start or experienced teachers looking for a new place to mold our future leaders.
